Toucan Toco: Data Visualization Workshop – 13.01.2020
On January 13th, 2020, HEC Data Minds organized an exclusive data visualization workshop with Toucan Toco at their Paris office. Over 20 students of HEC Paris were eager to learn more about data visualization and data storytelling from the highly successful French start-up.
The workshop was led by Business Line Manager Florent Rambaud, who gave a didactic and fun introduction to the Do’s and Don’t’s of Data Visualization with the support of concrete examples. He spoke about the popes of data viz and the data journey (from Data Sources, Data Management, Data Discovery to Data Storytelling), and showcased typical use cases of data visualization. The students learned about the most efficient methods to present and communicate data through stories and known visualizations. Toucan Toco has 100+ Fortune 500 clients including Renault Nissan, Deloitte, L’Oréal, LVMH, BNP Paribas and has just raised 12 million € through leading VC Balderton Capital to expand in the US.

It was an interesting evening, that allowed for HEC students to learn more about the best practices to tell better data stories and to gain first insights into Toucan Toco’s data storytelling solution itself.
